Territory
The territory where our vineyards grow is located on the picturesque slopes of Etna on the North side. Here, the unique combination of volcanic soil, altitude, and microclimate creates extraordinary conditions for vine cultivation.
Our vineyards extend over 1.5 hectares in the areas of Solicchiata, Linguaglossa, Rovittello, and Castiglione di Sicilia, near the Alcantara river
The predominantly sandy volcanic soil, rich in minerals such as iron, silicon, and sulfur, provides our vineyards with natural nutrition. The ashes and lava rocks present in the soil promote excellent drainage and, thanks to their porosity, store heat during the day to slowly release it at night, positively influencing the ripening of the grapes. This particular soil gives the wines a distinctive minerality, elegance, and extraordinary freshness.
The vineyards, with an average age of 50 years, planted at an altitude ranging from 450 to 700 meters above sea level, enjoy a significant temperature variation between day and night. This phenomenon is essential for the development of intense and complex aromas in the grapes, while preserving a lively acidity. Furthermore, the Mediterranean climate, characterized by mild winters and hot, breezy summers, contributes to a slow and steady maturation, ensuring superior quality of the fruits.
